Mitchell H. Pally was named partner in charge of government relation at Weber Law Group in Melville. He joined the firm as partner in 2006.
Prior to joining Weber, Pally was vice president for government affairs at the Long Island Association. He held that post for 14 years. Pally joined LIA in 1985 and served as director of legislative and economic affairs.
Prior to joining the LIA, Pally worked for the state government on the New York State Senate Committee on Transportation and the Legislative Commission on Critical Transportation Choices. He still works for the state under new Gov. Eliot Spitzer; Pally is Suffolk County representative on the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, named to that position by Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy.
Pally is also a member of the Temporary State Commission on the Future New York State Power Programs, the New York State Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation and the Suffolk County Electrical Agency.
He also was chairman of the organizing committee for the Long Island Empire State Games in 1999.
Pally is an adjunct professor of political science at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, where he resides.
